Tennis Instruction Understanding Modern Tennis: Volume 1: The Modern Forehands - Part 1 Twice the power with half the effort! Improved ball control! Less chance of injury! More effective use of spin! A wider range of shot-making possibilities! These are among the many benefits of modern forehand technique developed by touring pros – benefits that can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels and all ages from 3 to 83+. The great irony is that, with very few exceptions, modern tennis technique is rarely taught, or taught well. The old, traditional technique of the 1970s still persists in most tennis teaching around the world, especially at the recreational level. This DVD – and its companion Volume 2 – are the first releases in Understanding Modern Tennis, a state-of-the-art series of instructional DVDs for all those who want to understand and play the modern game. The new series, being developed especially for coaches and self-directed players, will eventually cover all of modern tennis. The DVDs – a product of modernTennis.com – are part of major project to transform how tennis is played and taught around the world. Illustrated with footage of top professional players, and organised into easy-to-locate topics, these DVDs will show you – whatever your age or current skill level – how to "...think and play like the pros!" NOTE: Volumes 1 and 2 form an integrated set on the modern forehand. For this reason, it is highly recommended that both volumes be purchased together. Volume 1 introduces modern tennis and the explains the fundamentals of modern forehand technique and footwork. Volume 2 builds on this material, exploring in more detail the wide range of shots that can be made using modern forehand technique, and explaining the variations in swing pattern and footwork that we now see in today's game. Customer Review: Superb. Best dvd on tennis instruction I have seen. Am amazed no one else has reviewed it. I have learnt so much and will need to continue watching it to absorb all the information. Good quality and good footage of the pro's demonstrating the techniques. My only gripe is that the modern serve dvd has not yet been made! The modern forehand explained in lay terms. Hope this will help you. Sergio Cruz
