H. Robert Miller - Question:

Hey Sergio,

What is really the best tennis court construction for the human body to play upon and also, at the same time, the easiest court to maintain for play?

Thanks,

H. Miller

Answer:

Robert, interesting question.

Opinions will be varied and often will be biased because people will look at subjective aspects or personal interests.

- Commercial interests.

- Economics, maintenance costs for example.

- Some will consider what favors their style of play.

- Others will consider building costs.

The list of reasons is endless, from the human point of view and high impact prevention, my list goes in this order:

1 - Best - Red clay or hard-thru (green clay). (High maintenance costs)

2 - Grass courts. (High maintenance costs)

3 - Artificial grass courts.(Low maintenance costs Low Impact - This answers both your questions)

4 - Plexicushion Tennis Court. (Low maintenance costs Low Impact - This answers both your questions)

5 - Cow Dung courts. (Believe me very comfortable and easy on your body, no smell either. India is specialized.)

5 - Cushioned indoor carpet courts. (Low maintenance costs)

6 - Cushioned indoor carpet courts (Many Options). (Low maintenance costs)

There are many more options included hard-courts (cement) which I put at the bottom of any list.

Robert, hope I answered, What is really the best tennis court construction for the human body to play upon and also, at the same time, the easiest court to maintain for play?
