Tennis instruction: Yannick was a master attacker, his technique was pure and refined. Is footwork was superb and he applied all three attacking variations at will. - Carioca - Cross Stitch - On the run (introduced by Illie Nastase) Important to note the "carioca" footwork which is a classic way to approach the net quick with the backhand slice. Good attackers have an acute sense of opportunity, Yannick is at the top of the ladder when it comes to that. He is relentless, unforgiving and punishes every short ball with an attack. This in the course of a match can be nerve racking for the opponent and on pressure situations usually pays great dividends to the attacker.
